Manomet Hill is the highest point in the Pine Hills (the geographic feature), reaching 395 feet above sea level at its summit. It is also the highest point in the Town of Plymouth and Plymouth County. The Pinehills (the development) owns about 1/3 of the Pine Hills (south of the blue line in the image below). The Pinehills property approaches within a half mile of the summit of Manomet Hill and reaches a maximum height of 377 feet above sea level (at the location shown as a red X in the image below).
Conquering Manomet Hill won't require you to bring along sherpa guides and oxygen. The ascent to the summit of Manomet Hill is a gentle but persistent climb with very few challenges. The 1.3 mile (312 foot vertical) ascent to the summit will take you about an hour if you stop often along the way to appreciate the view.
You begin and end your ascent of Manomet Hill within The Pinehills, starting along Old Sandwich Road 3/4 of a mile past the entrance to the Seton Highlands community (about 2 miles from Great Island). However, much of this hike is off Pinehills property, on land owned by Entergy Nuclear Generation (including the summit).
