Great Island Pond

According to The Pinehills, LLC, "For many years Pinehills LLC has owned the island in the middle of Great Island Pond and approximately 100+ acres on the far side (east side) of Great Island Pond... Town conservation land known as the Briggs property sits between the 100 acre parcel and The Pinehills OSMUD land..." [E-mail: December 30, 2009]

The island in the middle of Great Island Pond (CFD REALTY TRUST II) is a little over 1 acre and contains an abandoned,  broken-down old house.

The "100+ acre parcel" consists of 104.84 acres in two separate parcels of 82.8 acres (BEAVER DAM HOLDINGS LLC) and 22.04 acres (CFD REALTY TRUST II). These parcels are east of town owned property and a privately owned parcel (WOODS WILLIAM H) abutting the pond.

WHAT's NEW

The Open Space Mixed Use Development (OSMUD) zoning bylaw that governs development of The Pinehills allows Plymouth Town Meeting to amend the existing Pinehills Master Plan (Development Plan) to include new [contiguous] land into the Pinehills OSMUD.

01/14/2010

The Pinehills, LLC has asked Plymouth Town Meeting for changes to the definition of what constitutes contiguous parcels under the OSMUD bylaw to include water bodies and land within 1000'.

According to The Pinehills, LLC, "The proposed change would not automatically add land to The Pinehills but would permit Town Meeting to have the opportunity to consider the merits of any future application to add land to The Pinehills OSMUD under the new rules."  [E-mail: December 30, 2009]
